Leigh Hill Houses

SKARCHITECTS LTD have been appointed to explore the refurbishment, remodelling partial demolition, partial re-build and re-use of 22 to 34 Leigh Hill a partially vacant pair of terraces in the heart of the Leigh Conservation Area. The proposals for re-use had to be mindful of the sensitivities of the conservation area and challenge of retaining as much of the dilapidated buildings as practical.

Considering the Client objectives, the project was submitted to planning in two phases for significant refurbishment and remodelling of the terrace comprising 30, 32 and 34 Leigh Hill to create three new family houses. The second phase for the flats at 22-26 was to redevelop the site into two houses and one block of flats.

The project provided high quality homes in a highly connected location maximising upon the unique setting within the heart of Leigh and the outlook across the Thames Estuary.
